WRESTLER OF THE YEAR —
Gary Mayfield, Hanover: The senior captured the PIAA crown in his fourth
trip,
earning him a fourth PIAA medal. He finished the season 44-2 and 165-12
for his career,
tying the best mark in District history!
·
Mike Anderson, Littlestown: The senior brought home a second
straight PIAA silver,
this time at 119. He repeated as Regional, District and
Sectional champion, going 39-2
and capping his career at 120-21.
·
Ricky Behler, Eastern York: He reached Regionals before ending his
senior season 31-9.
Behler earned a sixth-place District finish after capturing
his first Sectional crown at 160.
·
Cory Bream, Hanover: He joined teammate Mayfield at the PIAA
tournament with a fifth-place regional finish,
matching his District effort. A
key performer in the Nighthawks' league title team, Bream finished his senior
season
37-11.
·
Tyler Clinton, Eastern York: The senior ended the season 27-7,
earned a second straight District berth at 215
and combined with Ed Fooks for a
tough one-two Golden Knight punch.
·
Chris Dahlheimer, Kennard-Dale: The sophomore went 34-4 and reached
the Class AAA Section IV
final at 135, earning his first spot at Districts,
where he finished fifth.
·
Ed Fooks, Eastern York: He made his second trip to Districts in
just his third year wrestling at any level.
There, he lost a 1-0 heartbreaker in
the 275-pound quarterfinals to cap a 25-6 season.
·
Aric Fuhrman, Delone Catholic: He earned a second PIAA medal, this
one for fifth at 145.
He won his first 38 matches before a state semifinal loss
to the eventual champion. He earned repeat titles at
Regionals, Districts, and
Sectionals, and finished 39-2 to push his career mark to 134-24.
·
Chris Gonzales, Kennard-Dale: He compiled a 22-13 record and
reached the District tournament in only
his second season as a wrestler with a
fourth-place Sectional finish at 103.
·
Kyle Gorman, Littlestown: Gorman qualified for states after a
runner-up finish to Fuhrman at Regionals.
He also earned silver medals at

won his 2nd AAA Sectional
IV title, but fell
one
win short
of earning a coveted PIAA slot at 171 lbs., finishing 4th at the 2004 South
Central
AAA Regionals. Lehman
ended his final season at 31-5 and his 3-year career at 81-18 with a
2003 Governor Mifflin Holiday
Tournament Crown, a 2002 York Suburban Holiday Crown, 2nd
places at the 2002 Section AA Tourney, Brandywine Tourney
and Carlisle Tourney... and two
Section
IV AAA
wrestling titles (03-04) at 171lbs.
Lehman also was a 2-time defensive player of
the year for West York Football and represented West York in the annual York County/Lancaster
War of the
Roses
Thanksgiving Football Game.

David Macy, Littlestown: The junior finished 30-9 and joined
teammates Anderson and Gorman in the Regional tournament.
He reached the
District 3 Class AA 135-pound semis before settling for third.
·
Brad Maggard, Hanover: The sophomore went 24-16 and surprised many
by reaching the Regionals in his first
season in the lineup.
He earned that
berth with a sixth-place District finish at 189.
·
Brandon Snyder, York Suburban: The freshman went 30-12 and capped
an outstanding season with a trip to
states.
He placed fourth at Regionals and
fifth at Districts.
·
David Sterner, Eastern York: The senior reached the Regional
tournament with a fourth-place District finish at
125.
A key component in the
Knights' District team tournament run, Sterner finished the season 35-6.
COACH OF THE YEAR — Karl Oswald, Eastern York: He guided the
Golden Knights (17-1, 7-1 division) to a
second-place finish
behind division
champ Hanover. His team reached the District 3 Class AA team tournament
for the first time in school history,
beating the Nighthawks to reach the semis.

WRESTLER OF THE YEAR —
Kyle Sprenkle, Spring Grove: The senior won his second straight PIAA
medal,
this time for fourth place at 275 pounds. He recorded a 42-4 mark this
season with a pair of regular-season
tournament
titles to go with his Sectional
championship.

Eric Albright, Red Lion: The junior finished the season at 34-6
with a third consecutive trip to the PIAA
tournament,
where he lost a 1-0
decision to the eventual Class AAA 119-pound runner-up. A District 3
second-place finish followed
his second Section IV crown, the first with the
Lions.
·
Dustin Barley, Central York: He earned his second ticket to the
District tournament with a 112-pound
Sectional title.
Barley compiled a 19-7
record in his first season with the Panthers after moving from Red Lion.
·
Cody Becker, Spring Grove: The senior capped a four-year varsity
career with his first state tournament
berth.
The Rocket won the District 3
Class AAA silver medal at 140 pounds en route to 39-4 season.
Becker won all
three regular-season tournaments and finished his career at 117-35.
·
Kelin Bidelspach, Spring Grove: The junior made his first trip to
states after winning five straight District
consolation bouts to finish third at
130. He ended the season at 40-7.
·
Joe D'Orsie, Dallastown: He surprised many by reaching the Class
AAA 275-pound District final, earning a ticket
to states. D'Orsie went 25-12 for
the league title-sharing Wildcats and was a Sectional runner-up to Sprenkle.
·
Tyler Gladfelter, Dallastown: The senior went 33-10 and reached the
PIAA meet in his first full season
of varsity
wrestling. He finished third in
the District 3 Class AAA 215-pound class, racking up a 27-second fall in
the
consolation final.
·
Nick Glatfelter, Susquehannock: The senior 125-pounder reached the
District Class AAA semifinals before
losing two straight, finishing the season
at 26-9. He won his second straight 125-pound Sectional championship
in his
fourth year as varsity starter.
·
Noah Glatfelter, Susquehannock: The sophomore went 27-11 and
advanced to his first District 3 tournament
by winning the 103-pound Sectional
title.
·
Jason Hollar, Red Lion: He made his third appearance in Hershey
after winning the District title at 152.
Hollar's lone loss in 40 matches came
in the state semifinals to the eventual champion. He was named
Outstanding
Wrestler at two of the Lions' three regular-season tournaments.
·
Chris Hollinger, Dover: He needed four wrestle back victories,
including an overtime decision in the consolation
final, to gain a berth at
states. With a 29-12 record this season, the senior was a Sectional runner-up to
Nick Glatfelter at 125 after winning the 103-pound crown last year.
·
Ben Kotzman, Central York: The senior came into the season
unheralded and finished as a state qualifier.
He reached the district Class AAA
215-pound final, beating Tyler Gladfelter in the semifinals. The Panther also
won
the Sectional championship on the way to a 32-9 mark.
·
Braden Paules, Dallastown: The senior went 29-10 in his final
season, advancing to the District championships
for the second straight season.
He provided leadership for a young team that reached the Class
AAA District team
tournament championship.
·
Justin Terhune, Dallastown: The junior went 40-5 and became a state
qualifier by claiming the District 3
Class AAA 189-pound crown and returned from
states with a fourth-place medal.
·
Corey Wonder, South Western: The junior just missed a berth in
states after competing in his first
District tournament. He compiled a 33-7
record and won a dramatic 6-4 overtime decision in the 160-pound
Sectional
final.
COACH OF THE YEAR — Dave Gable, Dallastown: Gable took a young
team to a share of the YAIAA crown.
The Wildcats (13-4 & 7-1 division) advanced
to the District 3 Class AAA team tournament finals.
