West York's Billy Randt is 3rd at 140lbs.!
▪ West York junior Billy Randt lost a tough 1-0 decision to 3rd seeded Logan
Wisner of Spring Grove in the semi-finals of the YAIAA 2009 AAA Section V
Championships at South Western High School.  Billy came back with a major
decision in the consolation semi-finals over Ryan Haugh of Northeastern 11-2,
then dominated South Western's Jake Kemper 6-0 for the 3rd place medal and
a trip to Hersheypark for the District III AAA Wrestling Championships on 2/20.
Billy Randt's 2008-09 record now stands at 27-6 as he heads into Districts.
West York finished 11th out of 12 teams in points on Saturday.

2/4/09 - West York HS Varsity (1-13) lost to Oley Valley (4-8)... 39-36 at home.
West York's Billy Randt had a :46 fall as the West York Senior High Bulldogs
dropped their final home dual meet to Oley Valley.  Seniors John Morelli and Nick Clingan
added falls, while Dillon Schwartzer, Jon Randolph and Tanner Landes won by forfeit for
the rest of the Bulldog's points.  Randt's record is now at 24-5 for the 08-09 season.

West York will now head to South Western High School - Saturday, February 14, 2009 for
the YAIAA AAA Section V Wrestling Championships @ the South Western High School gym.
The top three place winners from the Section V Championships qualify for the
2009 District III AAA Championships at Hersheypark Arena on February 20 and 21.

1/29/09 - West York lost to York Suburban ...40-18 at home on Thursday evening.
In a match that had many forfeits, West York lost a non-division contest to York Suburban.
West York posted a fall by John Morelli and forfeit wins by Ryan Randolph and Dillon Mulroy
in the home dual meet loss.  West York's Billy Randt dropped a last second decision to
York Suburban's Jordan Knaub, 8-7 after jumping up a weight class.  Randt stands at 23-5
heading into next Wednesday's dual meet with Oley Valley's Lynx Varsity Team.

▪ West York's JH Bulldogs earned their first win over York Suburban JH...40-24.
Pins were posted by West York's Darren Gross, Ben Snyder, Adrian Campbell,
Kyle Narber and Jacob Gemmill.  West York's Junior Bulldogs added decisions
by Devin Sweitzer, Alex Moyer and Alex Raffensberger in the win.
Jacob Gemmill runs his WYJH season record to 16-6.

It was "West York Elementary Wrestling Recognition Night!"
West York's John Riedel won by fall over South Western's Jared Berkheimer
in West York's home loss to South Western.  WY's Billy Randt and Nick Clingan added
decisions for the remaining team points.  Randt runs his record to 18-4.

West York's Billy Randt won by technical fall and John Morelli added a decision,
and that was it for West York scoring at the Dover High School gym, Thursday evening.

1/14/09 - West York's Varsity lost to Red Lion on Wednesday evening... 69-6.
West York's John Riedel headlocked Red Lion's Ian McKinnell for a fall in 1:30
at 112lbs. to account for West York's only points of the evening.  In a close match,
West York's Billy Randt dropped a 4-3 decision to a very good Scott Vasellas at
140lbs.  Randt is now 16-4 for the season.

West York's 165lb. Jacob Gemmill recorded a fall in 51 seconds over Red Lion's Ben
Heishman.  Also, West York's Ben Snyder added a major decision over Red Lion's
Sebastian Smith at 115lbs. for the other West York points.

1/12/09 - West York pulls out a win against the York Tech Spartans... 44-36.
West York got pins from Kyle Stauffer, Billy Randt, Ethan Kline, John Morelli, Jon Randolph
and Tanner Landes to beat York Tech, 44-36, in the West York Gym.  West York added
a technical fall from Ryan Randolph and also a decision from Dillon Mulroy in the win.
▪ Billy Randt's record now stands at 16-3 going into the Red Lion dual meet.

1/10/09 - Dallastown dominates West York - 75-3 at West York's Home gym.
West York's Billy Randt scored a 9-4 decision over Dallastown's John Hyman
to score West York's only points in a home loss that featured a before-match
recognition of the 1977-78 West York 14-0 YCIAA Championship Team.

West York's Jacob Oliver, Devin Sweitzer and Jacob Gemmill posted falls
for the Junior High Bulldogs while Ben Snyder added a 6-5 decision at 115lbs.

West York got decisions from John Riedel and Billy Randt, along with three forfeits,
but dropped a Division I dual meet to Central York...43-24.  West York's
Dillon Mulroy, Nick Clingan and Mike Snyder all picked up forfeits in the loss.
West York Varsity Wrestling now stands at 0-7.
▪ Billy Randt ran his record to 14-3 with a 5-1 decision over Central York's
Matt Newman at 145lbs.

12/29/08 - West York's Billy Randt dropped a 7-3 quarterfinal decision to
Wyomissing's Mike Priest and was the Bulldog's only wrestler competing
in the consolations for a medal on Tuesday.  West York stands in 17th place.

12/21/08 - West York lost to very tough Spring Grove team...62-5.
West York's Billy Randt was dominate in a 19-4 technical fall at the 5:46
mark over Spring Grove's Toby Allison @ 140lbs., but Randt scored the only points
for the West York Bulldogs as Spring Grove posted eight pins and won easily, 62-5.
Randt stands at 8-2 going into the Governor Mifflin Holiday Tournament 12/29-30.

Freshmen Kyle Stauffer and Ryan Randolph each won by fall as
West York lost a close dual meet.  Sophomore John Riedel also picked up his first win
with a 4-2 decision at 112lbs.  West York's Dillon Mulroy, Mike Snyder and Nick Clingan
all won by forfeits.  Susquehannock's Aaron Trimpey gave West York's Billy Randt his
first dual meet loss of the season with a 9-7 decision at 140lbs.

Marcus Clement of Cedar Cliff during Thursday night's action at Cedar Cliff.
Randt handed Clement (6-1) his first loss of the 08-09 season at 140lbs.
West York's Randt is now 3-0 heading into the Carlisle Holiday Tournament.
West York's Varsity lost by a score of 68-3.
